Update for Families with Confirmation Candidates

Here at St. Anthony’s Church, we strive to make each candidate’s experience of Confirmation a truly spiritual encounter with the Holy Spirit.  We have found that when our candidates commit themselves to fully participating in all the various preparation activities, that their hearts and souls are open and ready to be touched by God.  Please review the following activities and set aside these days and times so that your child can be part of all God is waiting to offer. 

1. Robe Orders due Oct. 17, 18 so there is enough time for delivery.

2. Saint shield due for CFF students October 24, 25

3. All Saints Hall of Fame after the 9:15 Parish Mass on Sunday October 29th.  (More details to come)

4. ‘Casserole Cook-off’ to benefit St. John’s Hospice and perhaps Aid for Friends...Volunteer for an hour or two from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 1st in Friendship Hall.  A flyer with ingredients to collect and sign up for cooking will be sent home as the time draws closer.

5. Confirmation Retreat on Saturday, Nov. 18th from 1:30-5 PM with invitation to stay for 5:15 Parish Mass.  (Sponsors or parents are welcome but are not required to attend)

6. Letters to the bishop requesting Confirmation due at Retreat

7. Take Home Sheets due at Retreat

8. Interviews and Confession:  Set aside either 4:00-5:00 or 6:30-8:00 on Tuesday, Nov. 21  (See purple sheet to reserve time span.  Both candidate and sponsor or parent must attend)

9. Sponsor Letters of Eligibility are due at Interviews...Nov. 21

10. Candidate’s Witness of Faith sheets are due at Interviews...Nov. 21

11. Confirmation Rehearsal ...Thurs. November 30th from 7-8:30 PM in the Church.  (Past rehearsals were traditionally the Sunday before Confirmation as a courtesy to sponsors, however because this year that Sunday falls on the long Thanksgiving weekend, staff opted to keep the weekend free for family time - hence the Thursday schedule)

12. Confirmation will be held at St. Anthony’s on Saturday, December 2nd at 11 AM.  The Most Reverend Louis DeSimone will celebrate the Rite of Confirmation.
